To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and spread the message of unity, a special event titled “Sardar@150 Ekata Walk” will be held on November 12 at 8 a.m. The walk will commence from Chandravalli playground on Holalkere Road and conclude at Challakere Gate, informed Deputy Commissioner T. Venkatesh, who has instructed officials to ensure all arrangements for the successful conduct of the rally.
Presiding over a preparatory meeting at the DC’s office, Venkatesh emphasized the need for effective traffic and crowd management during the walk. He directed the Police Department to regulate vehicle movement and install barricades where necessary. The City Municipality has been asked to provide drinking water, water tanks, garbage vehicles, and ensure cleanliness along the route.
The unity rally will see enthusiastic participation from Mera Yuva Bharat volunteers, NCC cadets, NSS members, sportspersons, school and college students, and citizens of Chitradurga, said M. Ramesh from Mera Yuva Bharat.
Officials including Additional Deputy Commissioner B.T. Kumaraswamy, Assistant Commissioner Mehbub Jilani Khureshi, Zilla Panchayat Deputy Secretary Dr. Rangaswamy, and representatives from various departments attended the meeting to finalize the event’s preparations.
