“Karnataka’s Five Guarantee Schemes are not limited to the poor or Dalits but are meant for people from all communities across the state,” said Agriculture and District In-charge Minister N. Cheluvarayaswamy. He was speaking after inaugurating a workshop and review meeting on the implementation of the Guarantee Schemes at Ambedkar Bhavan in Mandya.

The minister said these schemes were introduced by the state government to uplift the underprivileged and fulfill the vision of Rahul Gandhi. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s commitment to social welfare led to their effective implementation. He dismissed claims that the government had neglected other development works, noting that alongside the Five Guarantees, ₹50 crore has been allocated to each MLA for taluk-level development, and substantial grants were given for the Mysugar factory and the Agricultural University.

He added that Karnataka’s Five Guarantee model has inspired other states, and the state now ranks first in per capita income in India. The government remains committed to delivering benefits over the next five years.

H.M. Revanna, Chairman of the State Guarantee Scheme Implementation Authority, said the Congress government has consistently focused on social welfare, providing free electricity, land rights, pensions, and subsidies. Vice Chairman Dinesh Gooligowda highlighted that four of the five guarantees directly benefit women, urging their continued support.

A documentary on the schemes was screened, and beneficiaries like Vijayalakshmi from Srirangapatna were felicitated for community contributions under the Gruhalakshmi scheme.
