Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday paid rich tributes to late party stalwart and former Union Minister Kinjarapu Yerrannaidu on his 13th death anniversary, describing him as a symbol of high values and a people’s leader who left an indelible mark on both state and national politics.
In a heartfelt post on X, Naidu called Yerrannaidu the beloved son of Uttarandhra and praised his integrity, dedication, and statesmanship. “He was Telugu strength, my best friend, and a leader who lived for the people,” Naidu wrote, recalling his close association with the late leader and his tireless work for the welfare of the poor and marginalized sections.
Yerrannaidu’s son, Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu, also took to social media to remember his father as a visionary leader and tireless advocate who dedicated his life to serving the people of Srikakulam. His legacy of compassion, commitment, and unwavering service continues to inspire generations, he wrote, expressing gratitude for his father’s enduring influence.
Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh, too, paid glowing tributes, highlighting Yerrannaidu’s lifelong commitment to North Andhra’s development and his contributions to national politics. He earned a special place in people’s hearts and remains immortal through his selfless service, Lokesh said.
Born into a family rooted in public service, Yerrannaidu entered politics in 1982, inspired by TDP founder N. T. Rama Rao. Over his distinguished career, he served four terms each as MLA and MP, including a tenure as Union Minister for Rural Development from 1996 to 1998. Representing Srikakulam in the Lok Sabha from 1996 to 2004, Yerrannaidu is remembered as a leader who championed the cause of the people with integrity and compassion.
