Actress Nicole Kidman gave her fans a special Halloween treat this year by adding “just a little bit” of Practical Magic to the spooky celebrations. The Oscar-winning star shared a set of mystical, nature-inspired tarot cards on Instagram, charming followers with a hint of nostalgia — and perhaps a teaser for the beloved film’s upcoming sequel.
“Just a little #PracticalMagic for your Halloween,” Kidman captioned the post. The photos featured beautifully illustrated cards showing an oak tree, acorn, salt bowl, flowers, and the sun — all arranged among lavender and daisies. The final slide showed the cards beside a candlelit table, a sketchpad, and pressed flowers, creating an enchanting scene.
Originally released in 1998, Practical Magic was based on Alice Hoffman’s novel and directed by Griffin Dunne. The fantasy romance starred Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as witch sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, descendants of a magical family.
Kidman will reprise her role as Gillian in the long-awaited sequel, alongside returning stars Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing as the wise and whimsical aunts. New cast members include Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Mariduena, and Solly McLeod.
Director Susanne Bier will helm the sequel, promising fans a fresh yet familiar dose of magic, love, and sisterhood — just in time for a new generation of enchantment.
