GESCOM Chairman Praveen Patil Harawal called on company staff to respond promptly to consumer grievances and work collectively to elevate the corporation’s performance. He was speaking after hoisting the national flag at the GESCOM head office during the 70th Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations organized by the Kavi Pranini and GUVESKAMNI Kannada Associations.
Highlighting Karnataka’s proud cultural heritage, he said the land of Kadambas, Hoysalas, Chalukyas, and Rashtrakutas has nurtured great poets and thinkers like Ranna, Pampa, and Kuvempu. “Ours is a land that spreads the message of peace and love. Speak Kannada, preserve Kannada, and promote Kannada,” he urged.
Patil expressed concern that the younger generation is gradually forgetting Kannada and appealed to parents to converse in the language at home to instill pride in their heritage. He also announced plans to establish a health club for GESCOM employees.
GESCOM Kannada Association President Muhammad Minhajuddin, presiding over the event, said that official work in the office is already being conducted in Kannada and should continue so.
Chief Engineer Mounesh Pattar, General Manager Parvati, Financial Advisor Mahalaxmi, Company Secretary Kiran Police Patil, and several officers and employees attended the celebration.
