Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Commissioner Rajendra Cholan conducted an on-site inspection of the asphalting work in progress near Town Hall. During his visit, the Commissioner instructed the executive engineers present to maintain strict quality standards and ensure the project’s timely completion.
The inspection was part of the civic body’s broader effort to upgrade major roads in central Bengaluru, improving traffic flow and commuter safety ahead of the monsoon season. Rajendra Cholan reviewed the thickness of the asphalt layer, material quality, and the ongoing drainage alignment work to ensure long-term durability of the road surface.
Speaking to engineers on site, he emphasized that public infrastructure works must meet prescribed quality norms and be monitored continuously to prevent premature wear and damage. He also reminded contractors of their responsibility to adhere to deadlines without compromising on standards.
The asphalting project near Town Hall is among several key road improvement initiatives being undertaken by the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) in core areas of the city. Once completed, it is expected to ease traffic congestion and enhance connectivity between key administrative and commercial zones in Bengaluru’s central district.
Residents in the area welcomed the Commissioner’s proactive inspection, expressing hope that the renewed focus on quality would lead to smoother and more durable roads.
