Kane Brace Fires Bayern Munich to Record 14th Straight Win

Bayern’s 4-1 German Cup win over Cologne took its winning streak to 14 matches across competitions, breaking AC Milan’s 1992-93 record.

Harry Kane’s prolific run continued as the English striker scored twice to lead Bayern Munich to a 4-1 win over Cologne in the German Cup — their 14th consecutive victory across all competitions, marking one of the greatest starts to a football season in history.

The result saw Bayern surpass AC Milan’s long-standing record of 13 straight wins at the start of the 1992–93 campaign. Under Vincent Kompany, Bayern have now won every match in the Bundesliga, Champions League, and German Cup this season.

Cologne briefly stunned the visitors when Ragnar Ache’s header put them ahead in the 31st minute — the first time Bayern had trailed in a game since July. However, the defending champions responded immediately with two goals in two minutes. Luis Díaz struck first — in a move that appeared offside but wasn’t reviewed, as VAR is unavailable until later rounds — before Kane produced an acrobatic finish in the 38th minute.

Kane added his second with a precise header from a corner, taking his season tally to 22 goals in just 14 games. Díaz then turned provider, assisting Michael Olise to make it 4-1 on the counterattack.

Elsewhere, Bayer Leverkusen sealed a dramatic 4-2 extra-time win over Paderborn after scoring twice in the dying minutes, while defending champions Stuttgart advanced with a 2-0 victory over Mainz. Union Berlin edged Arminia Bielefeld 2-1 in extra time, and Freiburg, Kaiserslautern, Magdeburg, and Darmstadt also booked their spots in the next round.

With Kane firing on all cylinders, Bayern’s perfect run shows no signs of slowing.
