Actor Arya has revealed that the shooting for the climax of director Pa Ranjith’s much-awaited gangster drama Vettuvam has resumed after being halted due to heavy rains. Sharing the news on Instagram, Arya posted a picture from his gym with the caption, “Rain stops… Shoot resumes… but training continues… #Vettuvam Climax @ranjithpa,” showing his enthusiasm for the film’s final stretch.
Produced by Pa Ranjith’s own Neelam Productions, Vettuvam stars Dinesh in the lead role, with Arya, Kalaiyarasan, Mime Gopi, Guru Somasundaram, and Shabeer Kallarakkal playing key characters. The film also marks actress Sobhita Dhulipala’s first Tamil release after her wedding. With music by G. V. Prakash, the movie explores themes of power and rivalry in a gritty, realistic setting.
Earlier this year, the film made headlines for a tragic reason when veteran stuntman Mohan Raj lost his life during a car stunt in Nagapattinam. The incident left the crew heartbroken. In a heartfelt statement, Neelam Productions expressed deep sorrow, describing Mohan Raj as a respected and skilled artist whose contribution to Tamil cinema would always be remembered.
Despite the setback, the team is now back on set, determined to complete Vettuvam, which promises to be one of Pa Ranjith’s most intense and emotional films.
