Minister Satish Jarakiholi clarified that the recent remarks by Legislative Council member Dr. Yatindra on “collective leadership” are unrelated to the posts of Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, or KPCC President.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Jarakiholi emphasized that the party’s organizational activities and the concept of collective leadership are entirely separate matters. “There is no connection between the Chief Minister’s position and collective leadership. Creating confusion on this issue is not appropriate,” he said, stressing that Yatindra’s comments should not be interpreted as indicating any leadership changes or decisions regarding the state party or government posts.
On the topic of the cabinet reshuffle, Jarakiholi noted that for the first time, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has spoken about it. He stated that discussions regarding any reshuffle must happen at both the Bengaluru and Delhi levels, and the final decisions will be taken collectively by the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. The minister made it clear that no unilateral conclusions should be drawn based on isolated statements.
Jarakiholi’s remarks come amid ongoing speculation about the state leadership and potential ministerial changes. By separating the idea of collective leadership from official positions, he sought to assure party workers and the public that no immediate decisions regarding the top posts are being made solely based on statements by individual leaders.
He concluded by reiterating that the party’s internal discussions and formal processes will guide any decisions on leadership positions, and emphasized the importance of avoiding unnecessary confusion in public discourse.
