The Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs organized a special food exhibition as part of the Dasara celebrations, showcasing various items available at government-run fair price shops. The exhibition was inaugurated on Saturday by Food Minister K.H. Muniyappa and District in-charge Minister H.C. Mahadevappa.

The display highlighted the government’s ambitious Anna Bhagya Scheme, illustrating the rural lifestyle and providing insights into the distribution of essential grains such as rice, jowar, and ragi. The exhibition also showcased weighing equipment and other materials used by the Department of Legal Metrology to ensure accurate distribution. A model depicting a prosperous, hunger-free Karnataka was presented under the “Hunger-Free Karnataka” initiative.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Muniyappa said that revisions to ration cards had been completed. Beneficiaries who were recently upgraded from BPL to APL can approach their respective tahsildars within two days, who will verify the records and reissue the cards promptly.

Speaking on the government’s performance, he stated that the administration is functioning smoothly, with Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers efficiently implementing the five guarantee schemes as promised. The minister also mentioned that decisions regarding any cabinet reshuffle would be made by the high command.

Under the Anna Bhagya Scheme, 10 kg of rice is being distributed to each eligible beneficiary. The government is also preparing to distribute Indira Kits, which include food grains, in the coming month.

The inauguration was attended by Minister Muniyappa’s private secretary Dr. H. Nataraj, Deputy District Director Manteswamy, officials, and local representatives, who appreciated the government’s efforts in ensuring food security and welfare for rural communities.
