Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday lauded Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for its remarkable achievements, especially the development of a 4.5 generation fighter jet at its Nashik facility. He addressed the praise while inaugurating a new community hall in his Lucknow constituency.
Singh said he had recently attended the unveiling of the new jet at HAL Nashik and described the work as “remarkable.” He also highlighted the establishment of a new DRDO lab in Lucknow to encourage research and development.
The Defence Minister recalled the firepower of BrahMos missiles, showcased during Operation Sindoor, now being produced in Lucknow. Speaking at the community hall inauguration, he emphasized his commitment to providing venues for public events and promised similar facilities across all assembly segments in his constituency.
Rajnath Singh outlined development achievements in Lucknow, including nearly 500 open gyms, 1,250 solar lights, and 14 flyovers completed out of 25 approved projects. He announced approval for a feasibility study of a circular metro rail service and reaffirmed his goal to make Lucknow a world-class city blending tradition and modernity.
He also praised the city’s cleanliness efforts, noting that Lucknow ranked number one in Uttar Pradesh and third nationally in India’s cleanliness survey. Singh congratulated the city’s Mayor and urged efforts to make it the top city in India for sanitation.
Paying tribute to the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Singh said the former inspired him to dedicate his life to public welfare. He also mentioned plans to expand aviation facilities in Lucknow, aiming for direct international flights to global destinations in the future.
