Police Bust Illegal Ganja Cultivation in Dindahalli Village

The Shivamogga district police have apprehended Basavaraj (34) for illegally cultivating marijuana plants in Dindahalli village, falling under the jurisdiction of the Shikaripura police station. The arrest took place on October 17, following a targeted operation by the local law enforcement team.

According to a statement released by SP Shivamogga on social media platform X, the police seized a total of 28 fresh ganja plants, weighing approximately 13 kilograms. The confiscated plants, which are estimated to have a market value of ₹35,000, were taken into custody under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The accused has been detained, and an investigation is currently underway to uncover further details of the illicit operation. The raid highlights the police’s efforts to curb the illegal cultivation of narcotic substances in the region.
