Rekha Sagar stars in Beedi Baduku struggle drama

Purushotham Omkar, widely known for his devotional films, is now venturing into a heartfelt story about a woman struggling to survive by selling beads on the streets. Titled Beedi Baduku, the film portrays the daily hardships of a mother striving to provide for her young son, highlighting her sacrifices and determination in a deeply touching way.

Actress Rekha Sagar, also known as Rekha Rani, plays the lead role and has stepped in as the film’s producer by investing in the project. The movie’s teaser was recently released at an event attended by Rekha Sagar, director Purushotham Omkar, Ganeshrao Kesarakar, Raj Bhaskar, editor Anil, Ma. Saketh, and Dr. Rupesh.

Rekha Sagar, who rose to fame as Mallamma in the KGF series and through several television serials, shared that Beedi Baduku captures the struggles of a mother trying to protect her child while dealing with a harsh husband and the challenges of street life. The film was shot over 25 days in real locations, including slums, temples, crematoriums, and hospitals, with the entire production completed in sync sound. She added that the audience will witness the emotional journey of a mother enduring humiliation and fighting for her child’s survival.

Speaking about her dual role as lead actress and producer, Rekha Rani said she personally embraced the challenging character, studying real slum life to portray the story authentically. She emphasized that the film carries a strong message: those who have should extend help to those in need.

The movie is now ready for release and features music composed by Raj Bhaskar, cinematography by Muthuraj, VFX by Anil, and editing by Anil. With its realistic storytelling and powerful performances, Beedi Baduku promises to be an emotional and inspiring experience for viewers.
