BMTC driver attacked by auto driver

An incident was reported on Sunday evening where a young man coming from behind in an autorickshaw seriously assaulted a BMTC bus driver after he stopped the bus at a red signal at Corporation Circle in the heart of the city.

A young man, who was travelling with his family in an autorickshaw, got angry because the BMTC bus was stopped at a red signal and he could not get out of the way. Instead of just letting it go, he suddenly got out of the autorickshaw and shouted at the top of his lungs.

The young man, who approached the driver and argued with him, saying, if you had left the bus side, I would have crossed the signal and gone ahead. He then attacked the BMTC bus driver, speaking in a loud voice. Due to the severity of the attack, the driver’s forehead was severely injured and started bleeding.

As soon as the driver was attacked, the female passengers on the bus rushed to his aid. They wiped away the blood that was pouring out and administered first aid, showing humanity. Even though such a tragedy took place in a public place, the young man’s behavior did not change.

Even after the attack, the young man displayed rowdiness. He shouted to the public gathered there, I was the one who hit him, what are you going to do, causing further outrage.

The Halasuru Gate Traffic Police were present near the scene of the incident. The police immediately reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The youth who attacked, his family and the auto have been taken into custody and taken to the police station for further legal action. 

The incident of an assault on a public service vehicle driver while on duty has sparked public outrage. Passengers and eyewitnesses have demanded that the police take strict action against the young man.
