During a progress review meeting held on Friday at the district panchayat mini hall, R. Shivanna, Chairman of the District Guarantee Scheme Implementation Authority, emphasized that Chitradurga district should secure the top position in the state for effective delivery of the Panch Guarantee Schemes to beneficiaries.

Shivanna directed officials to ensure proper implementation of all five guarantee schemes, highlighting the need for meticulous monitoring and follow-up. Under the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme, anganwadi workers were instructed to collect weekly data on beneficiaries who failed to receive benefits under the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) system and update the EKYC records. In cases where the head of the family is deceased, other eligible members should be recognized as the new family head to continue receiving scheme benefits. Officials were also asked to identify households not running any enterprises to facilitate their inclusion in the scheme.

Regarding the Anna Bhagya Scheme, Shivanna instructed authorities to prevent subsidized rice from being sold in private markets. The department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs was advised to submit proposals for fair price shops for newly formed Kandaya villages and for communities such as Hatti, Hadi, and Lambani Tandas.

D.N. Mailarappa, Vice-Chairman of the District Guarantee Authority, noted that the Shakti Scheme has been highly beneficial, and its impact would increase further with the establishment of KSRTC depots in Holalkere and Molakalmuru. Dr. S. Akash, Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, highlighted that the rise in college enrollment of girls in 2024-25 reflects the scheme’s positive impact. Preparations were ordered to document success stories through video by Oct 22 and to organize beneficiary camps by Oct 30 involving officials from various departments.

Over the past two years, Chitradurga district has received ₹3,000 crore in funding under the Panch Guarantee Schemes. The meeting was attended by Vice-Chairman Nagesh Reddy, members Indira, Niranjan, Abdul Sha Wali, Hemant Yadav, Hanumantappa, Chouluru Prakash, CS Gayatri, and other departmental officials.
