India showcases Ayush strength at Kazan Forum

Kazan

India’s traditional Ayush systems and strong economic partnerships with Russia took centre stage at the Tatarstan India Mutual Efficiency (TIME) Business Forum that began in Kazan on Wednesday. The event highlights cooperation in technology, health, and banking, reflecting the deepening India-Russia relationship.

The Indian delegation, led by Ambassador Vinay Kumar, includes representatives from the Ministry of Ayush, officials from Telangana, the Mayor of Agra, business leaders, spiritual figures, and film personalities. The forum also features panel discussions on health and labour mobility, Indian film screenings, and a friendly cricket match celebrating cultural ties.

During his meeting with Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais (Head) of Tatarstan, Ambassador Kumar discussed plans to open an Indian Consulate General in Kazan, which is expected to strengthen cooperation further. The Embassy of India in Russia noted that this step will give a significant boost to joint projects.

Speaking at the plenary session on “Russia and India: Time to Cooperate, Time for Regions”, Ambassador Kumar said India, as the fastest-growing economy, offers major investment opportunities in industrial corridors and new technologies. He emphasized that skilled migration and capacity building can help industries in Tatarstan grow.

Kumar also joined Tatarstan’s Prime Minister Aleksei Pesoshin to tour the exhibition showcasing Ayush traditions and India-Russia projects in innovation and healthcare. Earlier, he inaugurated the Centre for Indian Studies at Kazan Federal University, supported by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), furthering academic and cultural exchange.
