The set of Kannada Bigg Boss Season 12 near Bidadi in Ramanagara has been locked, halting the show midway, with contestants temporarily moved to a nearby resort. The suspension comes amid growing debate over Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar’s controversial remarks about Sandalwood artists at a recent film festival, which have reignited discussions about tensions between the government and the Kannada film industry.
The so-called “nut-and-bolt” statement made by Shivakumar earlier had drawn criticism from several actors, and the issue resurfaced during the Bigg Boss show launch. Contestants and host Kiccha Sudeep had tried to clarify the matter, but the controversy persisted.
Now, the Janata Dal (Secular) has directly targeted Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar on social media, suggesting that the lock on the Bigg Boss house was an act of personal vengeance. JDS tweeted that Shivakumar himself ordered the closure as retaliation for the “Nut Bolt” remarks, accusing him of taking revenge on artists by shutting down the show in Bengaluru South district.
The development has sparked heated discussions among fans, political observers, and the entertainment industry, raising questions about government interference in creative spaces. As of now, authorities have not issued an official explanation for the lockdown, and the future of Bigg Boss Season 12 remains uncertain, intensifying speculation about political influence over cultural events.
