Krithi Shetty Shares Belly Dance Experience for ‘Abdi Abdi’

Actress Krithi Shetty, who has received widespread praise for her performance in the recently released song Abdi Abdi from the upcoming film Genie, spoke about her experience learning belly dance for the number. The song also stars Kalyani, and both actresses appear in a never-seen-before avatar, delivering a mesmerizing belly dance that has already gone viral on social media.

Krithi shared that juggling multiple projects made preparing for the dance challenging. I was super thrilled when I found out about the belly dance in the movie because the ‘Genie’ is inspired by Middle Eastern folklore, and it felt so fitting. I love dancing, so learning a new style was exciting, she said. She added that her tight schedule, shooting for three Tamil films in Chennai, meant she could only attend classes in Mumbai during breaks. I spent a couple of hours in classes whenever I could. It took months of consistent practice, but I loved every moment of learning this beautiful art form, Krithi noted.

Abdi Abdi features intricate choreography, stunning visuals, and a catchy rhythm, highlighting both actresses’ versatility. Krithi, known for her girl-next-door charm, reveals a confident and sensuous side, transforming completely for this performance. The dance required mastering hip movements, undulations, and building core strength, all of which Krithi approached with dedication. Her commitment shines in every frame, making Abdi Abdi one of the most talked-about songs of the season and marking an important milestone in her career.
