Karnataka Needs UP-Style Governance: Yatnal

Bengaluru: BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal has called for a governance model in Karnataka similar to the Uttar Pradesh administra- tion. Speaking during a private event in Kauranhalli village of Chikkaballapur, Yatnal emphasized the need for a strong, decisive government to protect Hindu traditions, temples, and cultural practices. He criticized the current administration, alleging that while Hindus peacefully celebrated Eid Milad nationwide, incidents of unrest and stone-pelting occurred in parts of Karnataka, including Maddur and Nagamangala. He also expressed concern over the management of Waqf properties, claiming that their value in India equals that of three Pakistans. According to him, if the Modi government had not implemented Waqf laws, many Hindu temple lands would have been lost. Yatnal remarked that true fraternity, as preached in Islam, seems absent in the state. He alleged that while the Chief Minister re- frains from applying kumkum during Dasara celebrations at Chamundeshwari, Muslim ceremonies are celebrated with fanfare, including wearing traditional caps. Looking ahead to 2028, he said a government committed to protecting Sanatan Dharma, temples, kumkum traditions, and Hindu culture must come to power. He expressed his aspiration to become Chief Minister, promising that, if given the opportunity, he would implement a governance model inspired by Yogi Adityanath’s administra- tion in Uttar Pradesh. The MLA urged for decisive action to safeguard religious practices and cultural heritage while ensuring law and order across the state. This statement reflects Yatnal’s vision of governance focused on cultural preservation, strict administration, and stronger oversight of religious and community assets, aligning Karnataka’s political model with what he considers a successful framework in Uttar Pradesh.
