Bhupender Yadav Inaugurates Rajasthan’s First ‘Namo Biodiversity Park’

New Delhi

Union Environment, Forests and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav inaugurated Rajasthan’s first ‘Namo Biodiversity Park’ in Alwar on Sunday, aiming to promote environmental awareness and encourage citizens to adopt eco-friendly lifestyles. The park, also called ‘NaMo Van,’ is located at Pratap Bandh and is envisioned as a green lung for the region, enhancing local greenery and contributing to cleaner air.

Addressing the event, Yadav emphasized that the park will not only improve ecological conditions but also serve as a platform to inspire sustainable living among visitors. He noted that initiatives like this are vital for fostering public participation in conservation efforts and strengthening India’s commitment to biodiversity preservation and climate action. The inauguration included a plantation drive, attended by Rajasthan Minister Sanjay Sharma, highlighting collaborative efforts between the Union and state governments.

The minister also reflected on the broader importance of biodiversity, underlining that a balanced ecosystem is essential for overall well-being. Drawing attention to India’s traditional practices like yoga, he stressed the connection between nature and health, and how environmental conservation is linked to mental and physical well-being.

This initiative follows Yadav’s recent milestone of planting the one millionth tree at Kanha Shanti Vanam near Hyderabad, underscoring his ongoing commitment to environmental protection. The park represents a key step toward advancing Rajasthan’s green infrastructure while fostering awareness, education, and community engagement in sustainable and eco-conscious practices.
