“Lower-level annual plans are very helpful for rural development. By formulating proper plans, it is possible to achieve great development in villages,” said MLC Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah. He spoke after participating in a workshop on preparing an annual district development plan along with low-level projects held at the district administration building in collaboration with the district administration and the Zilla Panchayat.
“Former MLA DR Patil has vast experience in the decentralization system. Due to his excellent foresight in development issues, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has made DR Patil the Vice-Chairman of the State Decentralization Planning and Development Committee,” he said.
He added, “Conducting meetings at the ward and village levels and preparing a draft plan report on the development work that needs to be done in the village, and sending it to the government through the Taluk Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat, will help in implementing village projects on a priority basis. This is a good move. The decentralization system should be strengthened from the village level. Only then will villages achieve economic strength along with development. A draft of annual development plans should be prepared in all the villages of the state and sent to the next stage. It should be completed within the stipulated time.”
“With the vast experience of DR Patil, a draft of the decentralization system and plan preparation has already been prepared in Gadag district. Similarly, a draft of the development plan will also be prepared in Mysore district,” continued MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah.
