New Delhi

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution has announced its partnership with the Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) for the upcoming Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025. Set to take place on October 30th and 31st, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, this event is expected to be the largest global gathering of the rice export community ever held. The conference will bring together over 5,000 farmers, 2,500 exporters and millers, 50 shipping companies, and 1,000 international buyers from more than 80 countries. Additionally, representatives from diplomatic missions, trade delegations, and senior government ministers from various countries will participate, marking a historic convergence of major stakeholders in the rice industry.

This collaboration reflects the government’s strong commitment to working closely with IREF to promote India’s rice sector on the international stage. Dr. Prem Garg, National President of IREF and Chairman of Shri Lal Mahal Group, welcomed this partnership, emphasizing its importance for the sector’s growth.

The Department of Food and Public Distribution has pledged support for three key initiatives connected to the conference: the main BIRC 2025 event, the launch of a Coffee Table Book on Indian Rice, and the release of a Vision & Roadmap document outlining the future of India’s rice industry as part of the Viksit Bharat 2047 initiative.

BIRC 2025 will serve as a vibrant platform for all stakeholders to come together, encouraging collaboration, innovation, and new trade opportunities. The event will offer attendees and exhibitors direct access to global buyers, emerging markets, and cutting-edge agricultural technologies. Participants will also benefit from one-on-one networking sessions aimed at strengthening international supply chains and unlocking fresh business prospects.
