7, Including 4 from Belagavi, Drown at Shiroda Beach

Tragedy struck a holiday trip to Shiroda beach in Maharashtra’s Sindhudurg district, where seven members of a family from Karnataka drowned while swimming in the sea. The group of 11 had gone on a vacation, and four others managed to stay safe.

Rescue teams recovered five bodies, while efforts continue to locate the remaining missing. The victims included four from Londa village in Khanapur taluk, Belagavi — Irfan Kittur (37), Farheen Kittur (34), Ibad Kittur (13), and Iqwan Kittur (15) — and Namir Attar (16) from Alnavar, Dharwad. Two others from Maharashtra, Faran Maniyar (34) and Zakir Maniyar (13), also lost their lives.

Those rescued are Izana Kittur (10), Imran Kittur (42), Zabeen Kittur (38), and Isra Kittur (16). The incident occurred two days ago when strong waves swept seven members into the sea. The tragedy has left the family devastated, with four deaths reported from the same Londa household.
