“The state government is now in a deep sleep. It doesn’t know when the rain will come and is unaware of the drought situation. This is an evil government that doesn’t understand the suffering of the people,” joked Opposition leader R. Ashok on Friday.

Speaking to the media, he stated that victims who lost their homes due to floods and rain have come out on the streets, unable to celebrate Dussehra. However, he alleged that the government prioritizes caste considerations over the suffering of the victims. According to him, the state government is now working to ignite a fire between castes, claiming that Siddaramaiah has become the “fire Siddaramaiah.”

He pointed out that landslides have occurred in the Malnad region for the past month, causing extensive road damage. Siddaramaiah, he alleged, only woke up after the BJP announced a tour to inspect flood damage. Ashok sarcastically added that the Chief Minister is now making the usual dialogue that the central government should come to help.

R. Ashok further criticized Siddaramaiah, noting that he has served as Chief Minister for the last 20 years and should already have the rain damage report ready to send to the Centre. Yet, he alleged that the information is unavailable. He also claimed that no minister has formed a team like the BJP has and gone to inspect the damage, highlighting the government’s negligence in addressing the crisis and assisting affected citizens.
