Gandhi and Shastri are visionary leaders, Additional DC Dr N Bhaskar

Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr N Bhaskar said that each and every philosophy of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri is inspiring for the students and youth.

He spoke after inaugurating the 156th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and 121st birth anniversary celebrations of Lal Bahadur Shastri on Thursday, by offering floral tributes to the portraits of both the great men.

Mahatma Gandhi’s role and leadership are very important in the country’s freedom struggle. He fought day and night to make Indians who were living in their own land free from the clutches of foreigners. He led a simple and noble life through truth, non-violence, honesty, patriotism and patriotism. Inspired by Gandhiji’s influence, many students and youth left schools and colleges and plunged into the freedom struggle and showed patriotism, he said. 

Dr Kodi Rangappa, President of the District Kannada Sahitya Parishad, said that Mahatma Gandhiji led the freedom struggle to remove the British from the country. Mahatma Gandhiji, who had immense patriotism and devotion, dedicated his entire life for the country and the freedom movement. 

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the winners of various competitions, including the essay competition organized for students from various schools and colleges in the district, were encouraged with awards and certificates.

The Additional District Collector launched the Swachhata Hi Seva programme from Ambedkar Circle and personally participated in the cleanliness drive. 

Zilla Panchayat Deputy Secretary Atiq Pasha, Tahsildar Rashmi, Municipal Commissioner Mansur Ali, Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations Department Junjanna, Information Assistant MR Manjunath, NSS students, and others were present.
