Karnataka-Goa NCC wins top honors

The NCC Directorate of Karnataka & Goa emerged as champions in the All India Vayu Sainik Camp (AIVSC-2025), securing the prestigious Vayu Sena Trophy for the ‘Best Air Contingent’ for the third consecutive year.

The grand award ceremony, held on September 28 at Air Force Station, Jalahalli, celebrated the achievements of 632 Air Wing NCC cadets from across the country.

Seventeen directorates, each represented by 38 cadets, participated in a series of rigorous competitions, including drill, skeet shooting, .22 firing, aeromodelling, field craft, and microlight flying. This year, the camp introduced a drone competition to provide cadets with vocational skill development opportunities. For the first time, cadets from the Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh Directorate joined the event, adding to the nationwide camaraderie and spirit of healthy competition.

The cadets also engaged In leadership and personality development sessions conducted by the Centre for Leadership & Behavioural Studies, IAF. They interacted with senior officers, gaining exposure to careers in aviation and the armed forces. The winners were awarded medals by Air Vice Marshal K Prem Kumar, VM, VSM, Command Flying Training Officer, HQ Training Command IAF, who addressed the cadets with inspiring anecdotes from his illustrious career, urging them to pursue life with courage, confidence, and moral integrity. With a total of 12 individual medals and two trophies, including ‘Best in Drone Competition,’ Karnataka & Goa outperformed other directorates, while Maharashtra finished as first runner-up. The event not only celebrated excellence in skills and training but also reinforced the spirit of discipline, teamwork, and national pride among young cadets.
