Action taken to recognise Silat sport

District in-charge Minister Shivaraj Thangadgi assured that steps will be taken to grant the pending recognition to the Pencak Silat sport, which has a state organization in the district, at the Chief Minister’s level.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 13th National Pencak Silat Games held at the district stadium, he said, I will give more emphasis to sports in the coming days and provide cooperation. A person becomes more enlightened through sports.

Former Urban Development Authority Chairman Mahantesh Patil said, it feels like the entire country is standing here today. It is not uncommon to invite so many people and hold a sports meet. It is commendable that Koppal has been introduced to a multilingual and multicultural country.
