Central Bengaluru roads under close inspection

Officials push for safer, smoother travel through focused civic monitoring and rapid repairs.

On Monday, Central City Corporation Commissioner Rajendra Cholan conducted a detailed bike inspection across arterial and sub-arterial roads in the Chickpet Division to review potholes, ongoing road repair works, and other civic concerns. The initiative is part of the city administration’s continuous efforts to improve road conditions and ensure safe, smooth travel for residents and commuters.

During the inspection, the commissioner reviewed key stretches, including Bull Temple Road, Vanivilas Road, Shankar Mutt Road, K.R. Road, National College Left, RV Road, Teachers College Left, Kanakanapalya Road, T. Marigowda Road, Hosur Road, Krumbigal Road (West Gate Right), JC Road, Poornima Talkies Road, and Lalbagh Road. The assessment focused on identifying areas with potholes, damaged surfaces, and other infrastructure issues requiring immediate attention.

The inspection team included Chief Engineer Vijaykumar Haridas, Superintendent Engineers, Executive Engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers, and marshals. Officials were instructed to prioritize repairs, ensure long-term durability of road works, and address citizen complaints promptly.

Commissioner Cholan emphasized proactive monitoring and timely maintenance to prevent accidents and traffic disruptions. He urged the officials to coordinate effectively across departments to enhance the overall urban commuting experience. Special attention was given to heavily trafficked areas where road damage poses higher risks to vehicles and pedestrians.

The bike inspection reflects the city corporation’s commitment to upgrading Bengaluru’s infrastructure while promoting safety and convenience for all commuters. With a focused approach to road maintenance and rapid resolution of civic issues, the Chickpet Division is expected to see significant improvements in road quality and public satisfaction in the coming weeks.
