BECC reviews ongoing city development initiatives

Bengaluru officials strategize to enhance infrastructure and public services

The Bengaluru East City Corporation (BECC) Commissioner DS Ramesh on Monday convened a comprehensive meeting with officials from Bengaluru Smart Infrastructure Limited (B-SMILE) and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) to review ongoing development initiatives across the city.

The session aimed at assessing the progress of various projects and ensuring timely completion while maintaining quality.

Additional Commissioner (Development) Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar, Chief Engineer Krishnamurthy, along with several senior officers from BECC, BSMILE, and HDC attended the meeting. Discussions focused on urban development programmes, infrastructure upgrades, and initiatives designed to enhance civic amenities for Bengaluru residents.

Commissioner Ramesh emphasized the importance of coordination among different departments to achieve project targets efficiently. He instructed officials to closely monitor ongoing works, address any delays, and ensure that citizens experience tangible benefits from these initiatives. Special attention was given to projects related to road maintenance, sanitation, housing development, and public utilities, with officials urged to provide timely updates on progress. Officials also highlighted challenges faced during project implementation, including logistical constraints, technical difficulties, and public feedback. Strategies to overcome these hurdles were deliberated, with a focus on streamlining processes and improving accountability.

The meeting concluded with clear directives for continuous monitoring and transparent reporting.
