80% Commission Charge: Ashok Demands CM’s Resignation, ₹3,000 Cr Relief

Opposition leader slams Congress over corruption, flood inaction, caste survey and alleged anti-Hindu policies in Karnataka.

Karnataka Opposition Leader R. Ashok on Monday accused the Congress government of taking “80 percent commission” and demanded the immediate resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru, Ashok said the Contractors’ Association had written to the Chief Minister alleging that the Congress is demanding double the bribes earlier attributed to the BJP. “This is an 80 percent government. If the ministers have any self-respect, they should all resign,” he declared.

Ashok alleged that the government dissolved the Justice Nagamohan Das committee to hide corruption and challenged ministers to clarify if they had taken bribes. He demanded a response from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, recalling the party’s earlier “Pay CM” campaign against the BJP.

Turning to the ongoing floods in North Karnataka, Ashok said Kalaburagi and Bidar districts have suffered severe damage while the government remains inactive. He urged the state to immediately announce and distribute ₹3,000 crore in relief, matching the BJP’s previous efforts of providing groceries and financial aid to flood victims.

Ashok also criticised the caste survey, claiming officials were pressured to complete it in 15 days to favour certain communities. He further accused the government of targeting Hindus by raising bus fares during festival season and promoting religious conversions. “CM Siddaramaiah is an ambassador for conversion,” Ashok charged, vowing that BJP leaders would tour affected districts to “twist the government’s ears” and demand accountability.
