T’gana Govt committed to building Future City: CM Reddy

Hyderabad

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to developing Bharat Future City as a global-standard urban hub. Speaking after laying the foundation for the Future City Development Authority (FCDA) building and a radial road to Amangal on Sunday, he said the project would be a model for next-generation cities in India.

Mr. Reddy dismissed allegations that the project was for personal gain, clarifying that Future City was meant for future generations. He urged people not to fall for political conspiracies and assured full government support in resolving issues related to land or development. “I will be at the forefront in addressing problems and ensuring justice,” he said, stressing the need for public cooperation.

The Chief Minister highlighted key features of the planned city, including underground power cables, a proposed greenfield highway linking Future City to Machilipatnam port, and a dry port project to overcome Telangana’s lack of sea access. He added that the Centre had agreed to a bullet train link between Future City and Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh.

The government envisions attracting Fortune 500 companies, with the FCDA building and a Skill University expected to be ready by December. Mr. Reddy said he would hold meetings with global investors at the new facility to draw worldwide attention.

Drawing parallels to Hyderabad’s historic growth, he compared Future City’s foundation to Quli Qutb Shah’s establishment of Hyderabad and the Nizams’ development of Secunderabad, later followed by Cyberabad’s IT boom.

He also instructed Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka to allot 10 acres for Singareni Collieries’ corporate office, targeting completion by December next year.
