Singh, a Harsha resident in Batala, is a criminal linked to terror-crime syndicate aiding terrorists, involved in violent crimes and coordinating operations via social media

In a major success, Punjab Police have extradited wanted terrorist Parminder Singh, alias Pindi, from Abu Dhabi to India with the support of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Ministry of External Affairs, and UAE authorities. Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said on Saturday that Singh was a key member of the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) module.

A resident of Harsha in Batala, Singh is not just a criminal but part of a dangerous terror-crime syndicate. He is known to be a close aide of internationally designated terrorists Harwinder Singh Rinda and Happy Passia. According to police, he was involved in several violent crimes, including petrol bomb attacks, assaults, and extortion in Batala and Gurdaspur. He also used social media to coordinate crimes and fund operations.

Acting on a Red Corner Notice issued through INTERPOL, a four-member police team from Batala travelled to Abu Dhabi on September 24. They completed legal procedures with the help of the UAE government and brought him back to India.

Senior Superintendent of Police Suhail Qasim Mir said Singh’s arrest was vital, as he had direct links with Pakistan-based terrorists. His capture has dismantled a critical link in a transnational terror network.

DGP Yadav said the operation highlights Punjab Police’s zero tolerance towards terrorism and organised crime. “This is proof that the law knows no boundaries,” he added, thanking the CBI, MEA, and UAE authorities for their cooperation.

The extradition is being seen as a strong step in safeguarding national security.
