Court Exists to Protect People, Says Justice Nataraj

High Court Justice R. Nataraj emphasized that the court is the most important institution for protecting the common man, and maintaining its integrity is a shared responsibility of the local community.

He made these remarks during the inauguration of the newly opened Principal District and Sessions Court in Hospet on Saturday. Justice Nataraj added that a new court complex is expected to be constructed in the next two to three years, urging the government to expedite arrangements for the same.

Retired Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court, K. Sridhara Rao, reminisced about his time practicing as a lawyer in Hospet and called on senior lawyers to support the development of junior advocates.

The event was attended by Bellary Principal District and Sessions Judge K.G. Shanthi, Vijayanagar Principal District and Sessions Judge D.P. Kumaraswamy, MP E. Tukaram, State Bar Council members J.M. Anil Kumar and Koteshwara Rao, District Bar Association President K. Prahlad, among others.

District In-charge Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan accompanied Justice Nataraj for the inauguration but missed the stage program as he later left for the Gadiganur cylinder blast site.
