SHIMUL Earns Profit of Rs 11.39 Crore

The Shivamogga, Davangere and Chitradurga District Cooperative Milk Union (Shimul) here has earned a net profit of 11.39 crore and bonuses and dividends will be given to member unions as per the rules, said Union President HN Vidyadhara.

Speaking at the annual general meeting of the union held at the Prerana Hall of Pesit College, he congratulated the milk producing farmers, the executive board members of the unions, the union’s board of directors, and the officers/staff of the union who are helping the union store 8.50 lakh liters of high-quality milk daily.

Shimul Managing Director SG Shekhar presented the details of the union’s activities and plans for the year 2025-26 to the meeting. In 2025-26, the federation has planned to provide a grant of Rs 4.25 crore for animal feed and fodder development, artificial insemination, animal health programme, training, camp, cooperative service and pure milk production programme, market development incentive and equipment to member associations, producers with the aim of encouraging dairy farming. “A grant of 1.49 is being provided for every kg of milk stored,” he said.

Vice President Chetan S Nadigara, Directors RM Manjunath Gowda, HB Dinesh, D Ananda, Jagadeeshappa Bankar, T Sivashankarappa, HK Basappa, BG Basavarajappa, BR Ravikumar, BC Sanjeeva Yanamurthy, TS Danda Gaudru, GB Shekharappa, BC Sanjeevamurthy, nominated director S Kumar, Manager Suresh Hulli were present.

The Annual General Meeting approved the award of the construction work of a mega dairy with a capacity of 5 lakh liters per day, proposed to be set up on 14 acres near H Kalapanahalli in Davangere taluk at a cost of Rs 280 crore, to the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) on a turnkey basis.
