Road development project launched in BTM

New urban corridor project promises smoother traffic and better connectivity for BTM commuters.

In a significant infrastructure initiative for the BTM Legislative Assembly constituency, Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Thursday inaugurated a Rs. 47 crore road development project connecting Ejipura Inner Ring Road (Srinivagilu) to Sarjapur Main Road (Outer Ring Road). The project, funded through a special government grant, aims to improve connectivity between East Bengaluru, ORR, and HSR Layout.

The three-kilometer project includes the construction of an 80-foot-wide (24-meter) connecting road passing through defense land and landscaping work over 5.34 acres in its first phase. The plan, originally proposed in the 2015 master plan, could not be executed earlier due to delays in the handover of defense land. With the land now cleared, the project is set to fulfill a long-standing demand of local residents.

Minister Reddy assured that the state government has always been committed to this development and emphasized that the construction will be completed promptly. He described the project as a major step toward easing traffic congestion and enhancing road infrastructure in the growing urban corridor.

The inauguration was attended by Brigadier Biju Shantharam, Brig. CML, HQ KK Sub Area Colonel K.P. Rajendra, Colonel Land, Colonel Sri Kumar, SO Land, ASC Center representatives, along with RWAs from Geeta B-Smile, Koramangala Blocks 1, 3, 4, and 6, Shantinagar Society Layout, Nirguna Mandira Apartment, and residents from Srinivagilu and Ejipura wards. This development marks a crucial milestone in Bengaluru’s urban planning, promising smoother traffic flow and improved accessibility for commuters in the rapidly expanding BTM area.
