Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday launched the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana and inaugurated multiple health and medical projects in the state, commemorating Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya’s birth anniversary. The scheme aims to empower women by providing financial support and ensuring transparency through technology.

Under the programme, women aged 23 to 60 years from families earning up to Rs 1 lakh annually will receive Rs 2,100 per month directly into their bank accounts. To assist applicants, the government introduced two toll-free helplines and a dedicated mobile app. Saini said, “Since its launch, 50,000 women have downloaded the app, and 8,000 have submitted applications. The helplines will help those facing difficulties while applying.”

Highlighting the central government’s backing, Saini noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi prioritises women’s empowerment and self-reliance. “We are providing gas cylinders worth Rs 500 to kitchens of 18 lakh women, and 30 out of 80 colleges in Haryana are exclusively for women,” he said. The Chief Minister also referred to the recently launched Lado Sakhi Yojana, further strengthening the state’s initiatives to improve women’s social and economic status.

The mobile app allows eligible women to register conveniently for the scheme, for which the state government has allocated Rs 5,000 crore. Special programmes were also organised across all 22 districts to mark the launch, with participation from state cabinet ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior administrative officers.

Saini emphasised that this initiative, along with other women-focused schemes, reflects Haryana’s commitment to empowering women, ensuring financial security, and promoting education and social development. Through technology-enabled transparency and direct support, the government aims to make the benefits accessible to every eligible woman in the state.
