Speaking at the Viswanath Reddy Mudnal Auditorium of the Graduate College, Bhoyar said, “Even though disabled people face challenges, art and creativity can be their blessing. Instead of worrying about what we lack, we should focus on available opportunities and government schemes designed to help the disabled.” He emphasized that fairs like Nerale serve as platforms to extend facilities and ensure benefits reach the deserving.
Municipal Council President Lalita Anapura cited Arunima Sinha, India’s first disabled mountaineer, as an inspiring example of determination. “Her climb of Mount Everest shows that continuous effort can overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges,” she said.
Das Suryavanshi, Commissioner of the State Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, encouraged participants to move beyond limitations and utilize available resources to lead a healthy life.
Officials present included Zilla Panchayat CEO Lavish Oradia, YIMS head Dr. Sandeep Harsangi, YIMS children’s department head Dr. Kumar Angadi, Urban Development Authority Chairman Baburao Kadlur, and APD organization representative Sampril. Hundreds of participants from Shahapur, Surapura, and other districts attended, reflecting strong engagement with the initiative.
District Disabled Persons Welfare Officer Sharanappa Patil noted that events like Nerale Mela are essential for raising awareness, fostering inclusion, and enabling disabled individuals to access government benefits and skill development programs.
