Sitarist Pandit Srinivas Joshi (75) passed away on Wednesday in Venkateshwara Nagar, Hubballi. He is survived by his wife Radha, son Nikhil and daughter Megha. The last rites were performed at Muktidham in Keshwapura, city.Born in 1951, Srinivas Joshi developed an interest in music at a young age. In 1972, he learned to play the sitar from sitar player Ustad Balekhan. In the following years, he conducted sitar programs at various places. He has directed music for more than 50 plays.He was a senior assistant at the Karnataka Electricity Transmission Corporation and voluntarily retired.
