‘Law Graduates Must Uphold Constitution’

MLA Vijayanand Kashappanavar emphasized that those who study law should work to uphold the Indian Constitution, drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and raise their voice whenever its principles are violated. He made these remarks while inaugurating the new Sri Vijaya Mahantesh Law College under Vijaya Mahantesh Vidyavardhaka Sangha at Ilkal.

Highlighting the legacy of the Sangha, he noted that it has educated lakhs of people in the region, many of whom have attained prominent positions in society. He encouraged the institution to continue fostering a thirst for knowledge and to introduce new courses, including engineering and medical programs, assuring full support and cooperation for these initiatives.

Speaking at the event, Guru Mahant Sri, President of Vijaya Mahantesh Vidyavardhaka Sangha, stressed that every citizen should possess basic legal knowledge and be aware of the laws of the country. Retired Judge N. Sharanappa added that respect for courts and judges persists globally, and law students who study diligently and practice with honesty can achieve great success.

MV Patil, Director of the association, delivered the introductory speech, while Municipal Council President Sudharani Sangama, Sangha Chairman Shivarudrappa Gongadashetty, and Vice Presidents CP Salimath and Ratnakar Hooli were also present at the inauguration, celebrating the launch of the new law college.
