Traffic Awareness Drive

KR Puram police intensify traffic awareness

The K.R. Puram Traffic Police carried out a series of awareness drives on Monday to educate heavy vehicle drivers and the general public about road safety and traffic regulations. The campaign aimed at ensuring compliance with rules and reducing violations that contribute to congestion and accidents.

At the Medahalli lorry diversion point, officers informed drivers of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) and Light Goods Vehicles (LGVs) about the restricted entry timings into the city. Police stressed that these timings are crucial for maintaining smooth traffic flow and minimizing risks during peak commuting hours. Drivers were urged to strictly follow the designated schedules and adhere to safety measures while on the road.

In a parallel drive at Raghavendra Junction within the station limits, the police engaged with pedestrians, commuters, and motorists, creating awareness about the importance of obeying traffic rules. Officials explained the consequences of violations such as over-speeding, signal jumping, and reckless driving, highlighting how such actions endanger not only the offenders but also fellow road users.

The Initiative also included educating the public on helmet use, seat belt compliance, and pedestrian safety. Leaflets with key traffic safety messages were distributed, and officers held interactive discussions with locals to encourage responsible behavior on roads. The K.R. Puram Traffic Police reiterated their commitment to enhancing road safety through a combination of enforcement and education. Officials assured that such awareness drives will continue regularly across key junctions to build a culture of discipline and responsibility among Bengaluru’s road users.
