“Ayurveda is a complete medical system that explains all aspects necessary to maintain good health, making it more relevant today than ever,” said District AYUSH Officer Dr. Chandrakant S. Nagasamudra.
India’s contributions of Ayurveda, Yoga, and Meditation hold immense global value. Though ancient, the Ayurveda system remains highly applicable in modern times. The AYUSH department provides treatments through Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy systems.
Ayurveda, an Indian medical system dating back approximately 5,000 years, promotes health through daily routines and rituals, aiming to prevent and cure both physical and mental ailments. Unlike modern approaches that often focus solely on treatment, Ayurveda emphasizes health maintenance while offering effective therapies for lifestyle-related conditions such as stress, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
The system encompasses Panchakarma therapies, daily routines, dietary practices, and psychological care, all designed to boost immunity, prevent disease, and support overall well-being. Ayurveda provides comprehensive guidance for a happy and healthy life from birth to death.
In the district, high-quality Ayurvedic clinics operate in 34 locations, offering primary-level treatments, while advanced care is available in hospitals. The public is encouraged to fully utilize these services to benefit from the preventive and therapeutic advantages of Ayurveda.
