BJP MLA T.S. Srivatsa to Attend DasaraInauguration Programme

The lone BJP MLA from Krishnaraja Constituency, T.S.Srivatsa said he will take part in the inaugural function of the 2025 Dasara festival to be held atop the Chamundi Hill on Monday.

Staying away from the inauguration will give a wrong impression that the BJP was anti-Hindu and for that reason he would participate in the Chamundi Hill function, said the BJP MLA.

However, mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha member Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, a member of the Mysuru royal family does not take part in the inauguration function because of the special rituals to be performed inside the palace on all nine days, and also the symbolic private durbar.  He will be seen for a while offering the flowers to the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari kept inside the golden howdah and mounted on the howdah carrying elephant on Vijayadashami day marking the beginning of the jumboo Savari on the thoroughfares of the city.

Srivatsa said the BJP will decide on its future course of action after hearing the speech of Banu Mushtaq, a winner of the booker prize, for her alleged comments on the goddess Bhuvaneshwari and two colours in the state flag. The party leaders will take a call by tomorrow whether or not to take part in the Dasara festival.

Yaduveer said he was not aware of any protest by his party against Banu Mushtaq tomorrow. Already, his party did try to take out the Chamundi Hill chalo but was prevented by the cops.
