Minister for Minor Irrigation, N.S. Bosaraju, came out in defense of Satish Jarkiholi, clarifying that the helicopter purchase was not intended as a publicity move to promote his Chief Ministerial ambitions. Speaking at an event in Raichur, Bosaraju explained that Jarkiholi regularly uses a helicopter for travel and often takes colleagues along. “Thinking the helicopter was bought to project CM ambitions is completely wrong. Of course, everyone dreams of becoming CM, and we are no different,” he said.

Bosaraju also highlighted his long-standing political association with Jarkiholi, stressing their loyalty and dedication to the party. He noted that all ministers, even those from other political backgrounds, continue to serve the party’s mission. He added that even chief ministers who are not originally from the party have contributed significantly to social, economic, and educational development while remaining committed to the party’s goals.

On the subject of the ongoing caste census, Bosaraju clarified that it is a neutral exercise not linked to any particular caste or religion. Its primary objective is to collect accurate data on the social and economic conditions of over seven crore people in the state. He further stated that the Chief Minister has instructed the removal of the word “Christian” from caste categories to respect public sentiments. The government is handling the matter responsibly, and there has been no opposition. Bosaraju urged everyone to cooperate fully in completing the survey efficiently. Through his remarks, Bosaraju aimed to dispel misconceptions regarding the helicopter purchase, reaffirm loyalty to the party, and stress the importance of a fair and transparent caste census, ensuring public confidence in governance and administrative processes.
