Officials direct staff to improve garbage collection, vehicle checks, and community awareness to boost cleanliness and public health.
On Saturday morning, Shri A.C. Srinivas, Hon’ble MLA of Pulikeshinagara Constituency, along with BNCC Commissioner Shri Pommala Sunil Kumar, conducted a joint inspection of the Periyar Nagar Circle to review sanitation operations and address public grievances. The leaders focused on waste management efficiency, staff deployment, and improving urban services in the area.
During the inspection, officials received strict instructions to address the garbage menace. The Additional General Manager (SWM) and health inspectors were directed to conduct regular checks and ensure timely collection and disposal of waste. Link workers were also tasked with spreading awareness about door-to-door waste collection and resolving mustering-related issues to streamline operations.
The leaders noted a shortage of vehicles in DJ Halli, which had led to public complaints about the diversion of autos for waste collection. They emphasized the need for daily checks of vehicles, proper activation of RFID systems, and accountability of staff to ensure smooth operations. Citizens welcomed the move, highlighting that such inspections and active monitoring could significantly reduce waste accumulation, improve cleanliness, and enhance public health standards. Officials confirmed that follow-up visits and continued supervision would be conducted across other areas to ensure consistent implementation of waste management reforms, aiming to make Bengaluru cleaner, safer, and more organized.
