GBA officials inspect key Bengaluru junctions

Officials assess traffic flow and safety on Bengaluru’s busy roads

On Friday, top officials of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) and the state government conducted a comprehensive inspection of major junctions and stretches along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) covering both East and South Bengaluru.

The inspection was led by Government Chief Secretary Dr. Shalini Rajneesh and GBA Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao, accompanied by senior officials from city municipal corporations. The team assessed traffic management, road conditions, and infrastructure at crucial intersections to identify areas requiring immediate attention.

Present during the inspection were Joint Police Commissioner Karthik Reddy from the Traffic Department, municipal commissioners Ramesh K.N. and Ramesh D.S., technical directors including Dr. B.S. Prahlad, and other senior engineers. The officials reviewed ongoing projects and coordinated measures to improve road safety, manage congestion, and ensure smoother vehicular movement along heavily trafficked routes.

The visit emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration between municipal authorities, traffic police, and technical experts to address urban mobility challenges. Officials also stressed the need for regular monitoring and proactive maintenance of critical road stretches, particularly on the ORR, which experiences high traffic volumes daily. Speaking to the media, GBA representatives noted that such inspections are part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to enhance road infrastructure, reduce traffic bottlenecks, and improve commuter experience across Bengaluru. The feedback from this field visit is expected to guide immediate corrective measures and long-term urban planning strategies.
