Ch’ballapur Celebrates Vishwakarma Jayanti with Educational Programs

The district of Chikkaballapur celebrated Vishwakarma Jayanti with grandeur, highlighting the significance of the divine architect and his contributions to Indian culture, engineering, and craftsmanship. Dr. H. Krishna, Chairperson of the Karnataka State Food Commission, emphasized that students should receive quality education to develop skills that can help them lead prosperous lives, during the celebrations held at the district.

The program was organized jointly by the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, and the Department of Kannada and Culture. Floral tributes were offered to Lord Vishwakarma, and participants paid homage to the legendary engineer who is credited with constructing temples, chariots, vehicles, weapons, and tools across ancient India. Dr. Krishna noted that students must also be made aware of various vocational skills to contribute to society effectively.

Vishwakarma, revered as the divine craftsman, is believed to have designed and built iconic structures, including temples in Indrapuri, Devaraya, Hoysaleshwara, and other historic sites, along with divine implements and celestial instruments. The celebrations honored the legacy of Vishwakarma as an inspiration for engineers, artisans, and skilled workers.

C. B. Navin Kumar, President of the Chikkaballapur Vishwakarma Sangha, along with dignitaries B.V. Paramesh, Lavanya, and other prominent members, participated in the program. Students were encouraged to develop skills, embrace vocational knowledge, and uphold the cultural traditions established by Vishwakarma. Kannada culture officials, including D.M. Yavikumar, and several scholars and community leaders were also present to mark the occasion.
