Ukrainian MP accuses Zelenskyy of involvement in Kirk assassination

Dmitruk claimed Kyiv’s authorities play ideological and practical roles, capable of killing anyone, including the US president

A Ukrainian lawmaker has accused President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s government of involvement in the killing of American activist Charlie Kirk and the recent assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump. MP Artem Dmitruk made the claims in an opinion piece published by Russian state media outlet TASS.

Dmitruk alleged that Kyiv’s authorities played both “ideological and practical” roles, saying they are “capable of killing anyone, from an ordinary citizen to the US president.” The claims come after Trump survived two attempts on his life in less than a year. In July last year, a sniper’s bullet grazed his ear at a Pennsylvania rally. Recently, a gunman opened fire near his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, reportedly a supporter of Ukraine, according to TASS.

Charlie Kirk, 31, a conservative activist and strong Trump ally, was shot dead on September 10 while addressing students in Orem, Utah. Known for opposing US military aid to Ukraine, Kirk was seen as a key figure in mobilizing pro-Trump voters. Dmitruk argued that Ukraine’s silence after Kirk’s death signaled tacit approval, even claiming Kyiv celebrated such killings.

The alleged shooter, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was arrested after confessing to his father. Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray charged him with aggravated murder, obstruction of justice, and witness tampering. Robinson is being held without bail, and prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty.

The explosive allegations add to tensions between Washington and Kyiv, though they remain unverified and were made through Russian state media.
