Police Constables Need Better Training: ADGP Alok Kumar

ADGP Alok Kumar urges newly trained constables to maintain law, serve society, and balance professional and personal life.

Additional Director General of Police (Training) Alok Kumar said providing high quality training to the newly recruited police personnel will enable them to provide good service to the society.

Speaking at the passing out parade of the second batch of newly recruited armed reserve police constables at the Police Training School, he said the present training sessions are limited to officer-level police personnel and there is need to provide good training to constables and then expect good service from them. The training curriculam has been transformed to help in making the constables physically and mentally fit and strong, he added. Alok Kumar also emphasised the need for the constables to strike a good balance between the professional life and family life as both are important.

Principal of the training school SP MM Yadwad presented the report of the school activities.

District SP Gunjan Arya, DCP Mahaninga Nandagavi and others were present.

Trainee constable Shrishail Chinagundi won the all-rounder trainee trophy. Srinivas Patil, Azar Mehmood, Hanumanthraya won the first three places in indoor games while Rajabakshi Pinjar, Santosh Biradar and Nitin Y secured first three places respectively in outdoor sports. In firing event, Umesh Siddappa Pujeri, Nagalinga Kuri and MB Shahsibhushan secured the first three places respectively. 

The ADGP called upon the new recruits to swear that they would not indulge in anti-social activities and be committed to protecting the innocents and maintaining law and order. He asked the principal of the training college to obtain a bond in writing from the outgoing constables that they would not indulge in any illegal activity before they are relieved from the school.
