GBA South Zone Commissioner Reviews E-Khata Implementation

Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) South Zone Commissioner K.N. Ramesh on Wednesday held a meeting with Revenue Department officers and staff to review key civic initiatives. During the meeting, he issued instructions to strengthen property tax collection, streamline election-related work, and effectively implement both social and economic surveys.

Ramesh also emphasised the need to make the e-Khata (online property record) system more efficient and citizen-friendly, highlighting it as a critical step in improving transparency and revenue management.

Senior BBMP officials were present at the review, including Development Section Additional Commissioner Naveen Kumar Raju, Joint Commissioner Madhu, and Deputy Commissioners Gagan and D.K. Babu.

According to officials, the Commissioner directed each department to submit periodic progress reports to ensure targets are met on time. He stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination and public outreach to raise awareness about property tax deadlines and digital services such as e-Khata.

The meeting also covered preparations for upcoming civic surveys and election-related duties, with a focus on accurate data collection to inform policy decisions. GBA sources said the administration aims to use technology and field-level checks to boost efficiency and reduce loopholes in revenue collection.
