Jr NTR’s upcoming film with director Prashanth Neel, tentatively titled NTRNEEL and also referred to as Dragon, is creating major buzz. The shoot began in March 2025 at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, and the makers are planning a grand pan-India release on June 25, 2026.
Reports suggest that Kantara star Rishab Shetty might make a special appearance in the film, though an official confirmation is still awaited. Bollywood veteran Anil Kapoor is also being considered for an important role. If finalized, this will mark his return to Telugu cinema after nearly 46 years. The team is also said to be in talks with prominent actors from Tamil and Hindi industries to expand the film’s appeal.
Rukmini Vasanth, best known for her role in Sapta Sagaradaache Ello, is expected to play the female lead opposite Jr NTR. Music for the project will be composed by Ravi Basrur, who has earlier worked with Prashanth Neel on KGF and Salaar.
Meanwhile, Rishab Shetty is gearing up for the release of Kantara: Chapter 1, a prequel to his 2022 blockbuster. The film, which also stars Rukmini Vasanth along with Jayaram, Rakesh Poojari, and Gulshan Devaiah, is scheduled to hit theatres on October 2, 2025.
With such a strong lineup of talent and high expectations, NTRNEEL is set to become one of the most awaited films in Indian cinema.
